Less waste and costs to feed more, better. CloudBlending in Mexico.

Henrik Stamm Kristensen

In 2050 the food system will have to sustain more than 9 billion people. And although many are those which require solutions aimed at the increase of production, we have to consider that today we already waste 1/3 of the food that we produce. There are also problems of food safety in an opaque model that does not allow the creation of shared values or the innovation needed to quickly meet the increasingly individualized demands of the consumer.

That is why in Blendhub we believe that the great challenge is to produce more efficiently to avoid not only waste but unnecessary costs, lowering the price of food so that more people can access them. Also that powder products, as a component of other food or as a food in itself, are a sustainable alternative to feed the world’s population and leave hunger behind.

Powder products have a long life, are easy to transport and can be customized with the necessary nutrients. In order to globalize its consumption, we have developed the first model of access to powder food blends as a service: CloudBlending, a system that integrates independent professionals and food technologists, food and raw material producers and distributors in a supply chain from origin to destination, which benefits all parties.

CloudBlending is a relational model that combines knowledge and means of production, a global community of agri-food experts and a network of hubs connected in the cloud to produce powder food in a location that offers the best opportunity to reduce the final price. Our hubs are built around portable plants, which we can locate on demand near the raw material or the place of delivery of the product in a sustainable system for people, the environment and economically.

Less waste, more sustainability

This model reduces the carbon footprint associated with transporting food and raw materials for processing. It enables bringing food to more people, producing locally and generating local value and at the same time help any company to go global, develop new products or reduce logistic costs worldwide. And helps to reduce part of the waste that is generated in the value chain, both at the level of the life cycle of the food and of unnecessary costs in its production. The method of producing locally in our hubs allows us to save transport costs, inventory or tariffs and take advantage of local resources.“Booth” tends to be a smaller peripheral location.

If you’re a company that works with food powder blends or an independent food technologist, we invite you to see our model in Mexico. We will be in Food Tech Summit 2017 between 27 and 28 September, booth 1822. In addition, our VP Business Developer, José Uriarte, will speak at the Auditorio Juan Rulfo, on the 27, 13:45, digital transformation in the food industry and how CloudBlending integrates into this process.

We can bring food to more people, in more places, in a fair and safe way.
